Same Sex Marriage:
I don’t think we blow out of portion redefining marriage. I think marriage is ordained of God. And we know it needs to be between a man and a woman. I think we need to stick up for our beliefs. I don’t think we should let society change doctrine. I think this is how we know Satan is making an attack on families. Because of laws like this that are trying to be changed. I think it’s important to have a firm foundation and to not let it waiver because of what society believes is right. We need to follow Godly principles.
Defending traditional marriage:
I think by being an example and talking about the sacredness of marriage is the best way to be a defender of it. I think if I strengthen my marriage then I can show others the importance of a traditional marriage. I think as a we grow closer to God then others will notice our righteousness and hopefully become defenders also. I think the best way to change people’s views is to be the best example of what you believe.
Being put to the test:
I think being prepared is something that is so personal. Because sometimes we think we are equipped with the right tools then we realize we may be missing some items. That can weaken our armor. I think personally I am prepared. I have a strong foundation of this gospel and know these principles to be true. I also think I have a great family that are a great foundation to be able to rely upon during these times.
“Since the dawn of history, marriage has transformed strangers into relatives, binding families and societies together.” (Obergefell v. Hodges) I think this was an interesting quote. How marriage was instilled since the dawn of history and how it has transformed ordinary people into families. There is something special about marriage and how it can truly change the course of societies and people’s lives. I think its so special that it should not be tainted by societies current views.
